It is true that The Jalianwala Bagh Massacre which occured on 13 April 1919 was carried out by one called as O’Dyer. His intentions were to teach Indians a lesson for breaking Law. OK. To us for Indian eyes He ( O’ Dyer ) is construed as a Devil who has no humanity. But history proves that either British or any other European (who are born Christians ) treat even their own country men in the same way as was done to Indians. Originally British were Sea Pirates and they learnt Gentleman ship from Indians only.
People then were protesting against the arrest of two freedom fighters known as Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal on Baishakhi day at Jallianwala bagh in Amritsar. By then Mahatma Gandhi has just entered the Indian scene. And Bose and Nehru were very young.
Thing is that Indian Babus out of sheer selfishness glorify the British. By remembering and acting apologetic to this tragic incident the British will feel pride that they ruled India in a ruthless manner.
But it is interesting to note that even today Britain (UK) is not a Democracy. It is a Kingdom. Their Police would have shoot at sight rights any of their Citizens under suspicion. They treat their own men in the same manner as to any others.

In fact those who shot the gatherers with Rifles at Jalian wala Bagh were Indian Soldiers. About 1000 died in the massacre. Whether it was O’dyer or Soldiers, who shot at unarmed people at Julianwala bagh, were Indian servants of Government of India. First, present Government of India must condone the act then ask for the same from the British.

My opinion is that Indians must feel shame for shooting at our own people without any compunction. The above letter was written by me in response to news item, “Jallianwala Bagh massacre ‘deeply shameful’, says British PM Cameron“, dt 20.2.13. “This was a deeply shameful act in British history. One that Winston Churchill rightly described at that time as monstrous,” David Cameron said.
