Parliament sidelined

In the British days External affairs were excluded from the purview of Central Legislator that means Parliament sidelined to safe guard British interests thence British Indian Government was made subordinate to the British Parliament. If we go back to  Government of India Act 1919  it had reserved Military, Air Force, Navy and Relations of India with Foreign Powers for the exclusive discretion of the Governor General.

And in 1935 also Foreign affairs , ecclesiastical affairs and defense are excluded from the Central Legislator.

Even though writers of our Constitution made explicit that ours is a Parliamentary Democracy they forgot to amend or repeal certain clauses pertaining to Powers of Government  regarding foreign relations.

It is interesting to note that Indian National congress, in 1940 , made all their elected representatives from Central Legislature to  resign  in protest against the then British India Government’s decision to join II world war unilaterally. Their sheer objection was not against war effort against Nazi Germans, but for the reason that  British Government of India entered into the War without the consent of the Central  Legislators who represented the People of India through a general election held in 1937.

The country is ruled by a few people in name of a Government exclusive of the Parliament . There appears perhaps may be System failure .

Sovereign Democratic Republic!

Whatever may be the position of Bye laws, India is declared a Sovereign Democratic Republic in 1948 by the Constituent Assembly unequivocally.

And also regarding the Kind of Democracy that India should have  Pundit Nehru categorically stated that ours should be a Parliamentary Democracy based on British model of West minister system in which all acts in office by Ministers are accountable to the Parliament collectively . It may be noted here that our Democracy is superior in letter and spirit in comparison to the British model for In England Sovereignty is vested with the King whereas In India Sovereignty is vested in People and People exercise their Sovereignty through their elected representatives in the Parliament .

The question of exclusivity of the Foreign Affairs from the scrutiny of   Indian Parliament did not arose this much controversy earlier because the Country was ruled by such staunch Patriots like Jawahar Lal Nehru , Indira Priyadarshini, P V Narasimharao, and the likes in the Past. But now the situation is entirely different . Members of Parliament have become mute spectators ignorant of their Powers and are oblivious to their duties . They are all the most busy saving their fiefdoms/constituencies rather than the country

Is India not fit for Self – rule ?

In the British days External affairs were excluded from the purview of the then Parliament – Central Legislator to safe guard British interests thence British Indian Government was made subordinate to the British Parliament . After India got Freedom British Parliament’s Paramountcy over Indian Government lapsed . Now Delhi under Dr Manmohan is intent in throwing India into the Hegemony of the USA in order to make it true the Cenruty old comment on Indians that ‘ Indians are not fit for Self – rule ‘.

Save India’s Sovereignty. New Delhi  knows that the Indo US nuclear deal is detrimental to India’s Sovereignty and running against the will of the People of INDIA  if non allowance of discussion on the issue in Lok Sabha under Rule 184 and in Rajya Sabha under Rule 168 is any indication. If a political party sets aside National interests for its parochial and selfish interests it becomes unpatriotic and should be checked at any cost.

It is need of the hour for all Chief Ministers of the Indian States to look into the matter immediately as the actions of the government in this regard have far reaching consequencies to the National Sovereignty of India. India as a country should not be thrown into the tutelage of the USA by New Delhi under a Political party with ¼ th number of seats in the  Parliament. Time has come for all to act cutting across party affiliations to save India’s Sovereignty.

Indo-US Nuclear deal and the Left ( CPM )   Instead of clamoring   outside of the Parliament The Left should act decisively . Immediately after the road shows Left should take it to the Parliament . People are not fools to believe what they say on streets unless  the Left proves it self  in the Parliament . Parliament is people’s platform to resolve socio – political issues . Somnath Chatarji should resign first from the post of Lok Sabha Speaker in order to make people believe that the Left – CPM is with the Country.
Henry Kissenger’s prophecy: BJP should stop vacillating  between India’s freedom and  its philosophy of friendly relations with the West under USA for ‘ any country which makes friendship with USA would eventually end up with its (USA’s ) occupation ‘ – a Prophecy made by Henry Kissenger which always proves to be  true practically.  It is the Pakistan’s interests that predominate any move in South Asia ( the Indian Sub continent ) for the USA. It created a carnage in Iraq to save Israel . It is now eying Iran .

In the game plan if India is pinned down in this way By the Nuclear Deal Pakistan is first beneficiary and ultimately all Third World lay at the feet of the English – US & UK  – once again in the near future.
